Police Shoot Teenage Car Theft Suspect At Florida Airport

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (May 16, 2013)--Police shot a teenager and arrested another suspect while investigating a car theft inside a rental car return area Wednesday afternoon at Jacksonville International Airport in Jacksonville, Fla.

Police tried to stop the stolen vehicle after tracking it to the parking garage at the airport, but the driver rammed two police vehicles and another car.

An officer fired at the car as it drove away.

Police found the vehicle in an apartment complex and arrested a 27-year-old and the 17-year-old, who was shot in the ankle.

Police didn't release their names and say they are still looking for a third suspect.

There were not many bystanders in the garage, but police say they fired shots because public safety was at risk.
