IGNACIO, Colo. (March 29, 2013)--The remains of five people unearthed at a Colorado school construction site could be from a burial plot, authorities say.
The remains were discovered last week in a ball field at Ignacio Intermediate School, where a construction crew is laying a sewer line.
La Plata County Coroner Jann Smith says the bones appear to be 50 to 75 years old, and are possibly from a family burial plot.
No foul play is suspected, authorities said.
The remains are expected to stay in the ground for a couple of weeks or longer until archaeologists can excavate them and move them to a new burial site.
