LEBANON, Pa. (September 28, 2012)--Retired Pennsylvania pastor Arthur Burton “A. B.” Schirmer, who’s already facing trial for the death of his second wife, has been charged in the death of his first wife in 1999.
Schirmer was charged with homicide in the death of Jewel Schirmer, his wife of more than 30 years.
Jewel Schirmer was initially thought to have fallen down a flight of stairs, but police and prosecutors reopened the case after Schirmer came under investigation in the 2008 death of his second wife in the Pocono Mountains.
Schirmer was charged with homicide and evidence tampering in that case two years ago and is scheduled to go on trial in January.
Schirmer's lawyer, James Swetz, said his client denies involvement in either of his wives' deaths.
Lebanon County District Attorney David Arnold announced the latest charges Friday.
