AURORA, Colo. (October 29, 2013) Authorities are offering a $20,000 reward for information that helps them find a man who tried to kidnap an 8-year-old girl from her bedroom in the Denver suburb of Aurora.
The reward doubled Tuesday after a car dealership added as much as $10,000 to the $10,000 reward previously offered for information leading an arrest and conviction.
The girl screamed for help shortly after midnight Monday, and her father ran outside the family's Aurora home and found her in an alley, police said.
The girl's grandmother, Beatrice Padilla, told The Denver Post the girl was doing her homework in her bunk bed when the man opened an unlocked window at around 12:15 a.m.
Sgt. Chris Amsler says there's no indication that the family knows the suspect.
Investigators are searching for a man driving a silver or gray BMW.
