SAN DIEGO (November 23, 2013) Sirhan Sirhan, Sen. Robert F. Kennedy's assassin, was moved to a new prison in California on the 50th anniversary of the assassination of Kennedy's brother, President John F. Kennedy.
A state corrections official says Sirhan was transferred Friday from Corcoran state prison in central California to Richard J. Donovan prison in San Diego.
Corrections spokeswoman Deborah Hoffman said the transfer was routine and the date "an unfortunate coincidence."
Sirhan, 69, is serving a life sentence for shooting Robert Kennedy in 1968 in Los Angeles.
