GEESYTOWN, Pa. (December 21, 2012)—At least one of the three people shot to death by a gunman who was later killed by state troopers was targeted in or near a rural central Pennsylvania church Friday, Blair County District Attorney Richard Consiglio said.
A woman who was shot to death Friday was decorating a church for a children’s Christmas party, the brother of the late pastor of the church said.
The Rev. James McCaulley presided at his brother's funeral Thursday at Juniata Valley Gospel Church in Frankstown Township about 70 miles west of Harrisburg.
A man who fired shots through the church hall’s windows killed the woman, McCaulley said.
Another woman who was helping decorate wasn’t shot.
The gunman killed two other men at another location before state troopers shot him to death after he fired at them and then crashed his pickup into a patrol car, police said.
