WINTER SPRINGS, Fla. (October 1, 2012)--Two members of motorcycle club died and a third was critically injured when gunfire erupted in the parking lot of a Veterans of Foreign War post as a charity ride was getting underway in central Florida, authorities said.
Police in Winter Springs, Fla., think all three victims of the Sunday morning shooting were members of a motorcycle club.
Police spokesman Doug Seely said a confrontation took place just before the 10:40 a.m. shooting.
He said police detained multiple people and confiscated a number of weapons.
The parking lot was taped off and a nearby senior center was evacuated after the shooting.
Four men were arrested in connection with the shooting.
It’s not clear whether they or the victims were VFW members or part of the motorcycle club called the Warlocks.
Police confiscated several weapons, but didn’t say what started the fight or how the shooting unfolded.
