BOGOTA, Colombia (February 9, 2013)--A deep but powerful earthquake Saturday shook western Colombia and Ecuador, but there were no immediate reports of damage or injuries.
The U.S. Geological Survey said earthquake,, which struck at 9:16 a.m., had a magnitude of 7.0 and was centered about 7 miles from the town of Pasto and 77 miles below the surface.
The quake was felt widely across Colombia and neighboring Ecuador, but local officials did not report damages or injuries.
