VERO BEACH, Fla. (February 16, 2013)—Three people are dead after a small plane crash in central Florida.
The Federal Aviation Administration said the Cessna 310 left Okeechobee, Fla., Thursday afternoon, headed to Bartow, Fla., when the FAA lost contact when the plane was near Fort Pierce.
The wreckage was discovered Friday in a marsh about 20 miles west of Vero Beach.
A U.S. Coast Guard helicopter carried paramedics to the crash site to remove the victims.
The National Transportation Safety Board will investigate the cause of the crash.
The names of the victims weren’t immediately released.
