HASBROUCK HEIGHTS, N.J. (September 3, 2014) Three people in their 80s are dead in Hasbrouck Heights, N.J., after a man shot his wife, brother-in-law and himself, police said Wednesday.
It's not clear what led to the shootings at two homes on a street in the New York City suburb.
Bergen County Prosecutor John Molinelli says Angelo Talignani went to Anthony Gentile's home at around 7:30 a.m., took two guns legally owned by Gentile and shot him in his bedroom.
Authorities say Talignani then went back home and shot his wife, Antoinette, as she lay in bed.
Talignani then killed himself.
A home health aide for the Talignanis heard the shots and called police from a neighbor's home.
Molinelli says police found Gentile's body when they went to question him about the guns found at the Talignanis' home.
