CAPE CANAVERAL, Fla. (April 19, 2013)--Two Russian cosmonauts are took a spacewalk Friday outside the International Space Station.
Pavel Vinogradov and Roman Romanenko were gathering old science experiments and installing some new ones, and also replacing a navigation device.
Romanenko is a second-generation spaceman who's following in his father's bootsteps.
Retired cosmonaut Yuri Romanenko performed spacewalks back in the 1970s and 1980s, but this was the son's first experience out in the vacuum of space.
Vinogradov, a cosmonaut for more than 20 years, was making his seventh spacewalk.
It was the first of eight spacewalks to be conducted this year.
