NEW YORK (November 12, 2013) New York police were seeking the public's help Tuesday in finding a man who they say broke into a woman's apartment in the middle of the night and raped her at knifepoint as her daughter slept nearby.
The woman and her 7-year-old daughter were both asleep when the assailant entered at around 3:30 a.m. Monday, police said.
Police aren’t sure how the attacker gained access into the apartment in Manhattan's Little Italy.
They say there were no signs of forced entry.
On Tuesday police released a sketch of the suspect and video from a surveillance camera showing him walking down the street after the alleged attack and asked anyone with information about him to call police.
