PHILADELPHIA (January 22, 2013)--Investigators have identified a woman whose body was found bound and burned inside a home in downtown Philadelphia, police said.
Philadelphia police Chief Inspector Scott Small said firefighters who responded to the home Monday afternoon found the woman's body on fire, with her ankles and wrists bound.
Investigators said there was no sign of forced entry or anything taken from the home.
Officer Christine O'Brien, a police department spokeswoman, said Tuesday the victim was identified as Melissa Ketunuti, 35.
O'Brien said the cause of the woman’s death has not been determined.
An autopsy was scheduled for Tuesday.
Neighbors say Ketunuti was a doctor.
Officials said the woman's dog walker found Ketunuti’s body.
They said her face and upper body were so badly burned that she was unrecognizable.
