ALBION, Ill. (June 14, 2012)--A 20-year-old Illinois man had a pretty good excuse for being bloody, naked and on the run, authorities said.

The man told authorities he was sleeping in the buff and when a spider startled him in his bed.

He jumped up and crashed through a glass storm door while running away, authorities said.

Edwards County Sheriff Darby Boewe said authorities responded to a number of reports of a bloody streaker in the area.

The Evansville Courier and Press reported that by the time
Authorities showed up, the man had returned home and put on some shorts.

He was treated at a hospital for the cuts.

The sheriff doesn't suspect drugs or alcohol were involved in the spider scare.
