ARLINGTON (November 26, 2013) A macaw named Captain Jack was returned Tuesday to Bill Salmon, the owner of Sunrise Automotive, in Hurst, 10 days after the bird was stolen in a burglar.
Hurst police received a call on Nov. 17 about a colorful bird found dumped along a road.
Investigators evidently were unaware about the theft of the parrot from an Arlington business.
Arlington police on Monday asked for the public's help in finding Captain Jack, saying the bird was taken during a Nov. 15 burglary.
Hurst animal services officials took custody of the bird until learning that the owner was located.
