NEW YORK (June 20, 2012)--The Episcopal St. John the Divine Cathedral in New York City hosted its first Blessing of the Bees Tuesday at a new hive on the grounds of the massive Gothic church.
Cathedral officials say the hive will be a haven for bees and will benefit the city's green spaces and gardens.
The bees may be blessed but those who attended were advised to wear long pants and long sleeves.
The cathedral has hosted blessings of the animals and blessings of the bikes, but this was the first one for bees.
