Church Holds Services At Fishing Lake To Reel In Worshippers

GREENFIELD, Ind. (August 16, 2013)--The Rev. Wade Compton, senior pastor at Bradley United Methodist Church in Greenfield, Ind., is holding summer services at a well-stocked 10-acre fishing lake.

He says the site puts new congregants at ease, and makes them more receptive to his sermons and gospel readings.

The sanctuary is a former bait shop, and attendees get two hours of free catch and release fishing along with a sermon.

Compton is hoping fishing enthusiasts attracted to his outdoor church will come to his limestone church after the season ends.
