LONGVIEW, Wash. (July 31, 2012)—A duck in Washington State from whose neck a 4-inch blow dart was removed is back on a lake in Longview.
City parks workers released the bird Monday, four days after it was patched up at Ocean Beach Veterinary Hospital in Longview.
Clinic technician Adrienne Myers said the feisty duck is healing well and happy to go home.
The duck attracted attention for more than a month as people tried to help it.
But because it could still swim and fly it proved elusive and parks workers finally netted it on July 24.
