PUEBLO, Colo. (September 26, 2013)—A a police impersonator picked the wrong man to confront when he approached an undercover detective in Pueblo, Colo., accused him of being a drug dealer and demanded that he hand over the illegal drugs.
The detective was in a cellphone store speaking to a clerk when the fake cop confronted him and demanded to know why he had so many phones.
He then demanded the detective "give him the drugs."
The detective turned the tables on the impersonator, producing his real law enforcement credentials and advising the man he was under arrest for suspicion of impersonation of a peace officer.
The man was jailed.
