SAN FRANCISCO (January 28, 2013)--A California fisherman was rescued by the crew of a Coast Guard helicopter after he got stuck in the mud in a marsh.
Coast Guard officials say the man tried to walk ashore when the tide started going out and his boat wouldn't budge, but didn't realize how far he had to slog through the mud.
Ultimately he called for help on a hand-held radio.
The fisherman, who's believed to be in his 60s, didn't need medical attention.
