COLUMBIA, Tenn. (August 6, 2012)—Police in Columbia, Tenn., arrested a 67-year-old man after they say he called 911 at least nine times Saturday and at least once asked if someone could send him a ride so he could buy beer.
The man might have gotten off with a citation, but police say he denied making the calls and claimed he didn’t have a telephone, so he was arrested and charged with making 911 calls in a non-emergency situation.
He was later released on bond.
