Lisa Gipson’s Turkeys Aren’t For Eating

PARAGOULD, Ark. (November 21, 2012)--Lisa Gipson loves turkeys on Thanksgiving, and the rest of the year, too.

That’s because her turkeys aren't intended for the table; they're her pets.

She and her husband David have a dozen birds on their Arkansas farm.

Lisa's husband named their turkeys after holidays so one is named Christmas and one is named Thanksgiving.

The Gipsons told the Paragould Daily Press they may sell some of the birds, but at $40 each, they note it's cheaper to buy a supermarket bird if turkey is on the menu.
