SAN ANTONIO (October 3, 2013)--Portions of a busy highway in San Antonio highway were reopened Thursday afternoon following a tractor-trailer rollover that dumped much of the rig’s 40,000-pound load of limes across the roadway.
Ramps from Interstate 37 to U.S. 90 south of downtown were reopened early Thursday afternoon, hours after the rig toppled over when its load shifted as the driver exited I-37.
The accident cause extensive delays for morning commuters.
The truck driver and a passenger were not seriously hurt, police said.
Efforts to reopen the ramps were slowed by the number of limes strewn around the accident site.
