BLOOMINGTON, Minn. (December 2, 2013) Police in Bloomington, Minn., cited a 29-year-old man for disorderly conduct after he tossed a thousand $1 bills from an upper floor railing at the Mall of America.
Serge Vorobyov, of Apple Valley, Minn., admitted he tossed the bills on Friday as a choir performed "Let it Snow."
He stamped each of the bills with his YouTube address.
He was cited and released at the scene.
Vorobyov said Sunday he's going through a divorce and lost his business and hoped the positivity of throwing the money would come back to him.
He said the $1,000 he tossed was the last of his money.
He said he invited his estranged wife to win her back, but said she didn't show up.
Mall of America spokeswoman Sarah Schmidt said Vorobyov disrupted the performance and could've caused a serious situation.
