MURRYSVILLE, Pa. (September 19, 2013)--A western Pennsylvania man was charged with drunken driving after police caught him carrying an open can of beer while driving a riding lawnmower along a road.
Thomas Marrone, ,55, was pulled over just before 1:30 a.m. on Aug. 30, police in Murrysville, Pa., said.
Police say Marrone smelled of alcohol and had an open can of Coors Light beer in the mower's storage compartment.
He told officers he was driving to his home, which was about 6.4 miles away, police said.
Marrone didn't immediately return a phone message left at his home Thursday.
He’s scheduled for a preliminary hearing Tuesday on charges including driving under the influence and driving with a suspended license.
