Researchers To Create Digital Models Of The Alamo

COLLEGE STATION (July 17, 2013)--Texas A&M University architecture professor Robert Warden heads an effort to create digital models of the historic Alamo in San Antonio.

Imaging data are being collected this summer than the experts hope hope will help computers track rain-related erosion and other weather influences.

The project is backed by the Ewing Halsell Foundation and the Texas General Land Office.

The digital models will focus on how the Alamo existed in 1836 during the historic battle for Texas independence, in 1885 when San Antonio became the site's custodian and from detailed drawings done in 1961.

The project also includes Texas A&M-Kingsville, the University of Texas at Austin and the University of Texas at San Antonio.
