POPLAR BLUFF, Mo. (February 5, 2013)—An automotive repair shop in Missouri discovered that an SUV door it bought from a Texas salvage yard was filled with cocaine with a street value of $150,000.
Authorities believe the six pounds of cocaine in the door arrived in Missouri last week by mistake.
Poplar Bluff Police Chief Danny Whiteley says the door evidently came from an unclaimed SUV that police impounded after a wreck in the Dallas area that ended up in a Dallas salvage yard.
A Poplar Bluff repair shop ordered the door and when it arrived workers found powder cocaine tucked inside five plastic storage containers inside the door.
