CORPUS CHRISTI (November 13, 2012)--Three great horned owls that fell out of their nests and needed months of rehabilitation at the Texas State Aquarium are back in the wild.
Aquarium officials in Corpus Christi released the birds Monday afternoon at the nearby Hans and Pat Suter Wildlife Refuge.
Authorities say two young birds were found in March in the Flour Bluff area and the other was found at Naval Air Station Corpus Christi in May.
Aquarium experts placed the birds in an outdoor flight enclosure to help the animals practice flying and learn to hunt live prey.
