CALIFORNIA, Pa. (June 14, 2012)--State police troopers used a stun gun and lasso to catch an unbridled horse that was running loose on a Pennsylvania highway, authorities said.
The horse was spotted near the California, Pa., exit of the Mon-Fayette Expressway at around 7:15 p.m. Wednesday, authorities said.
The animal ran when troopers approached, so the officers used the stun gun and lasso to subdue and control the horse.
Police said they can't find the owner.
They say the animal wasn't saddled and had no identifying brands or other marks.
Washington County Animal Control took the animal and a veterinarian was called in to tend to the horse.
