Teachers Dress Down In Hopes Pay Will Go Up

FAIRFAX, Va. (February 10, 2014) Teachers at Woodson High in Fairfax County, Va., are wearing jeans and T-shirts as part of a protest for better pay.

About half the faculty members have been dressing down, the Washington Post reported.

The teachers say the average salary in Fairfax lags behind other school systems in the area.

One teacher noted that maintaining a professional wardrobe is an expense.
