FRISCO (August 26, 2013)—A huge steam locomotive nicknamed the “Big Boy” has finally completed its 30-mile journey from Fair Park in Dallas to its new home in Frisco.
The 1.2 million pound steamer left Fair Park in tow last week en route to Frisco, where it will be part of the Museum of the American Railroad.
The move of the one-time Union Pacific Railroad engine was slowed by rail traffic, but more than 100 people thought it was worth the wait.
They were on hand for the engine’s arrival Sunday.
