(October 18, 2013)—The National Zoo’s panda cam was one casualty of the partial government shutdown, but the government is back in business and so is the camera.
The camera is trained on the pen where a panda born two months ago.
Since the panda cam went dark during the shutdown, the cub has grown from 3 pounds to 5 pounds and is now able to open both of her eyes partially.
She’s now reacting to noises she hears in the panda enclosure.
