SPOKANE, Wash. (March 1, 2013)--A toddler who bounced off a bed and out of the second-story window of a home in Spokane, Wash., was saved by his mother who leaped after him and dropped him safely to his grandmother who happened to be having a smoke on the porch below.
Police Communications Director Monique Cotton says it happened Friday as the mother was getting out of the shower.
The 14-month-old boy was jumping on the bed, and she saw him just as he bounced out a half-open window.
Cotton says the woman crashed through the window and caught the boy by the foot as his head bounced on a small roof overhanging the front porch.
She lowered him to the grandmother and then fell into some bushes.
She was treated at a hospital for cuts and a shoulder injury.
