Viral Video Lands Texas Stunt Pilot In Hot Water

DALLAS (January 24, 2013)--A North Texas stunt pilot shown in a video that went viral as he maneuvered his biplane perilously close to people on the ground could lose his license.

Video of the incident Saturday at Lancaster Regional Airport was posted on YouTube.

It shows the plane approaching the runway and then dipping to the left, its wing just a few feet from the ground, roaring past a person riding an all-terrain vehicle and another videotaping the approach.

The Federal Aviation Administration is investigating the pilot, Jason Newburg who the agency claims lacked a valid waiver.

Agency spokesman Lynn Lunsford said Newburg may also have violated FAA rules that prohibit pilots from acts that endanger people and property.

He said it's too early to determine what penalties Newburg may face.
