SMYRNA, Ga. (October 24, 2012)--A hunting store in Atlanta's suburbs is offering Georgia residents a chance to win a free gun for voting in the Nov. 6 election, but the raffle prompted one state senator to complain it violates a ban on providing money or gifts for voting.
Adventure Outdoors owner Jay Wallace defends the promotion, however.
Eight billboards in the Atlanta area tell people to bring in their Georgia voter sticker for a chance to win a Glock handgun or Browning rifle.
The store is in Smyrna in the city's northern suburbs.
Democratic State Sen. Vincent Fort of Atlanta filed a complaint Tuesday with the Secretary of State's office.
Wallace says that the raffle is open to all customers and said it gets people involved in the political process.
