DES MOINES, Iowa (July 8, 2013)--Four red-necked wallabies that made a break for freedom Sunday night after a gate was left open on the Australia exhibit at a Des Moines zoo were all accounted for Monday.
The male wallabies, also known as boomers, didn’t get far, Blank Park Zoo officials said.
Three of the kangaroo-like mammals were captured within hours and the fourth was found Monday morning.
None managed to leave the zoo grounds.
Corralling the marsupials required several workers.
None of the wallabies was hurt.
