DEER PARK, Wash. (August 20, 2013)—A wallaroo, which looks like a kangaroo, but isn’t one, is on the run in Washington State.
The wallaroo was reported missing in the Deer Park area, about 15 miles north of Spokane, Wash.
The animal's owner said the pet named Hopkins was frightened by equipment her landlord was using Sunday and ran off.
She told The Spokesman-Review she slept outside Sunday night in hopes of seeing Hopkins, but fears he may have fallen prey to coyotes in the rural area.
Wallaroos are a bit smaller than a kangaroo, but larger than a wallaby.
