RIO DE JANEIRO (August 23, 2013)--Tens of thousands of Brazilians have downloaded a new "Boyfriend Tracker" app that promises to act like a "private detective in your partner's pocket," reporting on a partner's location, and even stealthily sending copies of text messages sent to and from the targeted person's phone.
Google Play has since removed the app from its store.
The move was evidently in response to complaints that the app invades privacy and could be used by extortionists or even stalkers.
