CASA GRANDE, Ariz. (January 13, 2014) Goliath, a nearly 100-pound tortoise, is back at home, after wandering off six months ago.
The tortoise ventured off into the desert from the backyard of George and Mary Plumb's home in Arizona, and in six months managed to travel about 30 miles.
Goliath was returned to his owners thanks to an embedded ID microchip.
Mary Plum said she wasn’t too surprised Goliath wanted to see the world.
She told the Maricopa Monitor that male tortoises are "very big explorers."
