SEATTLE (May 22, 2013)--Police in Seattle launched a manhunt after a woman told officers she had been shot in the leg, but quickly discovered that no one heard gunfire.
And there was a good reason for that.
Paramedics discovered the woman had been stabbed, not shot, and police say she accidentally stabbed herself.
Officers said the woman was carrying a kitchen knife in her purse, which somehow managed to puncture both its sheath and the handbag.
The Seattle police blotter entry for the call says, "Sometimes Crimes Solve Themselves."
