MCALLEN (January 18, 2013)--Two Central American women have reported that human smugglers raped them in two separate incidents in South Texas, the U.S. Border Patrol said Friday.
A Border Patrol statement released Friday says a Honduran woman apprehended Tuesday in the brush by agents from the Kingsville station said she was raped on Jan. 6 by three men at a stash house near Hidalgo.
She was taken to a Kingsville hospital for evaluation.
A woman from El Salvador found by Border Patrol agents on Jan. 6 in Brooks County said two smuggling guides had separated her from a group of illegal immigrants in the brush and raped her at gunpoint.
Then they left her behind.
She filed a report of the assault with the sheriff's office.
