PASADENA (March 29, 2013)--Police in the Houston suburb of Pasadena are investigating the death of a 10-month-old baby who was burned over more than half of his body.
The boy died Wednesday afternoon at Bayshore Medical Center after he was burned, evidently by scalding water, Pasadena Police Department spokesman Vance Mitchell said.
Estella Olguin, a spokeswoman for Child Protective Services, said the family and child were investigated last summer.
In June the agency received a report after the baby suffered a fractured leg.
The child was placed with relatives until a court ruled in December that he should be returned to his parents.
A case worker visited the family earlier this month.
Authorities are awaiting autopsy results.
Police said the family was not cooperating.
