Fake Cop, Three Others, Sought After Home-Invasion Robbery

MISSION BEND (October 16, 2013)--Authorities were looking Wednesday for a fake police officer who flashed a badge before three other gunmen robbed a Mission Bend resident in a home-invasion that left one victim slightly hurt, the Fort Bend County Sheriff's Office said.

A man with a badge on a chain approached the house around midday Monday.

The homeowner refused to let the man in, but instead directed him to the garage.

Then, authorities say, three other men barged into the house and held the man, his son and his daughter-in-law at gunpoint while ransacking the residence.

One victim was struck, but wasn't seriously hurt, authorities said.

The gunmen fled with cash, a handgun and two cellphones.
