BEAUMONT (November 24, 2012)--The children of a Houston-area man and wife who were killed in a massive wreck Thursday on Interstate 10 southwest of Beaumont say this was the family's first Thanksgiving apart.

V.J. and Richard Leggio said their parents, Vincent Leggio, 64, and Debbie Leggio, 60, of Pearland were driving east on Interstate 10 to Louisiana for a gambling trip.

V.J., who worked with his father at the family business, said the family is devastated by the deaths.

The couple was killed in a chain-reaction crash in heavy fog along Interstate 10 that involved more than 100 vehicles, many of which were left twisted on top of each other.

At least 80 people were injured.
