PORT ARTHUR (July 8, 2014) Two people were injured in a fire at the Chevron Phillips Chemical facility in Port Arthur, the company confirmed Tuesday.
A statement from the company Tuesday said the fire at the Southeast Texas chemical plant has been extinguished and Chevron emergency crews are monitoring the damaged area.
Officials say they've accounted for all personnel who were working when the fire broke out at around 8 p.m. Monday.
Plant manager Margie Conway said in the statement that the two employees who were hurt are being treated at a hospital for their injuries.
The Port Arthur Fire Department could not provide any further details.
The company says the cause of the fire has not yet been determined.
