HOUSTON (March 24, 2013)—A head-on collision early Saturday morning between a pickup truck and a passenger car in Montgomery County left four members of a Houston-area family dead.
Jennifer Clouse, 27, her husband, Nathan Clouse, 28, and their children, Bailey Clouse, 8, and Jordan Clouse, 6, all died at the scene of the accident, which happened at around 5:45 a.m. Saturday on Highway 105 midway between Conroe and Montgomery.
They were westbound on Highway 105 in a Volkswagen Jetta when an eastbound Dodge Ram crossed the center line during a heavy rain.
The pickup slammed into the Jetta, flipping it upside down.
The force of the impact knocked the pickup truck’s engine out of its frame.
The driver of the pickup, Kevin Golden, 40, was taken to Memorial Hermann Hospital in Houston with serious injuries.
He had to be cut from the wreckage of the truck.
The Clouses, who lived in Cleveland, were driving to Conroe at the time of the crash.
They were all wearing seat belts.
The heavy rain was likely a factor in the accident, the Department of Public Safety said.
