THE WOODLANDS (October 11, 2012)--Investigators say a man armed with an assault rifle robbed a Houston-area Tiffany & Co. store and escaped with some expensive jewelry.
The Montgomery County Sheriff's Office was working Thursday to identify the robber, whose image was captured on store surveillance video.
Lt. Dan Norris said the man, who was wearing a cap, held up the high-end retail store late Wednesday afternoon in The Woodlands.
He looked at some rings before pulling the rifle from his bag.
Norris says the man sprayed several Tiffany's workers with a chemical irritant before stealing some items and running out the door.
No serious injuries were reported.
The upscale jewelry chain is based in New York.
