Man Arrested After Walking Into Texas Sheriff’s Office With Gun

LUFKIN (January 21, 2013)--A Lufkin man was arrested over the weekend after he walked into the lobby of the sheriff's office in Angelina County armed with a gun and screaming at dispatchers.

Kester Lyn Havard, 50, was arrested Saturday night and was charged with terroristic threat.

His bond was set at $100,000.

Bart Riley, the sheriff's office patrol supervisor, told The Lufkin Daily News that the man told them he was there to get a reaction out of the deputies because of a case involving a woman he claimed officials were doing nothing about.

“The things he was saying didn't even make sense,” Riley said.

Riley said paramedics examined Havard, who didn't appear to be drunk or have a medical issue.
