PLANO (June 16, 2013)--A man who somehow ended up in a pond at a golf course early Sunday in Plano was rescued, but later died.
The course wasn’t open at the time.
Plano Fire-Rescue Capt. Peggy Harrell says the victim was discovered early Sunday at The Courses at Watters Creek.
He later died at a hospital.
Harrell says nearby homeowners at around 1 a.m. Sunday reported that they heard a man yelling for help from the pond.
Emergency personnel found the man who said another person was with him in the water.
Firefighters searched the pond, but did not find anyone else.
The name of the man who died wasn't immediately released.
Authorities are trying to determine why he was in the pond.
