PITTSBURG (April 16, 2013)--An Pittsburg Texas high school student was killed and four others were hurt in a minivan accident as they and four other teens skipped classes.
The Department of Public Safety on Tuesday identified the victim as Loida Trinidad, 16, of Pittsburg.
She died when the minivan hit a bridge guard rail Monday morning.
Pittsburg Independent School District superintendent Judy Pollan said students didn't show up for classes and officials believe they were headed to Lake Bob Sandlin.
Trooper Jean Dark said a 15-year-old girl was hospitalized in critical condition.
Hospital officials Tuesday declined to release further details.
The other three girls have injuries not believed to be life-threatening.
Four boys, including the driver, weren't injured.
All of the boys and one of the surviving girls wore seat belts.
